【Meaning】
Know the taste to your treating the heavy thing lightly and treating the light thing heavily.
At the tea ceremony, the behaving of temae without delay is important even if the item is heavy.
If the person who treat the heavy things lightly and treat the light things heavily, he must be great skill.
That is very effective for Bugei.
In Japanese language, the combination words "lightness and heaviness" means "importance". In short, the importance is including whether heavy and light.
I felt this is good poem because all of things are handled as important things for fulfilling the Buddha-nature of the things.
No matter how it is a thing of the weight having a person even if heavy.
I believe this poem is for the way of attentiveness for the things more than physical practice.
At the Edo period, when samurai enter to the tea room, he shouldn't enter to tea room with his sword.
Because, there is no rank in the tea room, everyone was fair.
Even today, the citizen in India and Nepal have lot of agony because of the caste system.
The rule of the tea ceremony is great, I think. That is the reason why Japanese tea ceremony is one of the great traditional arts.
I am wondering if the uniformity of the temae is came from the uniformity of the caste system.
I really respect Japanese traditional philosophy because it regard such a small thing as important.
